We are honored that you considered our publication worthy to receive your writing, we thank you for the opportunity to read your work, and we regret that we are unable to publish it at this time. Please consider the numerical reality: that for each issue, we are able to publish much less than one percent of the submissions we receive.

This email goes to a category of writers we will be inviting to resubmit, whether your submission was not accepted or even if it was withdrawn. Soon you will receive another email inviting you to submit different work for the next issue, so please watch for that. We wish you the very best of luck, we hope you will keep in touch, and we hope that we may continue to read each other.

Ever yours,

Thanks Jennifer =) I believe they will send the invitation and I hope my new efforts will be accepted. Thanks again.

That's fantastic Sheri. I'm receiving compliments on the two stories I submitted and invitations to continue submitting others to various publications. Somewhere along the line these two will find  home. :)

That was a very nice rejection letter.  After a year of trying to get my first book published, I was confident in my story from all the advice I received from my rejection letters.  Most had an idea that could help my story & most said that it was different & unusual.  ;)

Marilyn, this is a great rejection. I've never had one like this, although I've had a few acceptances over the past 5 years. This message means the editors respect the writers even when they reject their work. It's rare and precious.
