Hello and Happy New Year!

I'm teaching an online nonfiction book writing course this winter and wanted to share the details with the She Writes community:

How To Start a NonFiction Book.... And Not Stop Halfway Through

https://continuingstudies.stanford.edu/courses/course.php?cid=20122_CNF+19+W

The Details: Do you have a great idea for a nonfiction book but just don’t know how to begin? This course is aimed at getting you started (and keeping you going) on the nonfiction project you’ve always wanted to write. From memoir to biography, history, crime, or travel, this course will help you develop your story, make sure you have enough information (and the “right” information to include), organize your thoughts, plot your book, and plan your beginning, middle, and end. We will also talk about what makes good nonfiction—from dynamic characters to the use of concrete details and the building of narrative suspense. The course will be peppered with writing exercises that will keep you inspired about your topic and producing multiple manuscript pages every single week. By the end of ten weeks, you will have a well-developed book concept, a strong opening, and the momentum needed to sustain your writing.

Sign up, join us! Make 2013 the year you finally finish your book!
