Is This The End or Just The Beginning?

I have been working pretty hard and have finally finished the first draft of book two. I made this goal to be done “writing” it by my birthday.  I hit my goal which of course felt like a pretty cool accomplishment... until I started thinking.  (We know this is never a good idea for me) It’s really not such a big deal.  It’s not like the work is over.  It’s really just beginning.

I have so much I need and want to do to it to make it ready for publication. Is it even good? There are lots of rewrites in my future. What about a title? I don’t have even a wisp of an idea for that.  I have to get some critiques, think about contests and of course the editing process.

Good grief.  It’s only just started.  I still have to plan the book launch for Breathe. And start kicking around the idea I have for book three.  I was going to do NaNoWriMo but I  have too much to do.  I sound like I’m complaining but honestly I was so caught up in finishing the book that I didn’t realize how much I needed to be doing in the next few months.

Good thing I’m excited about it all and can’t wait to get started.  My practical brain is itching to start planning but my muse wants to get to work on the next project.  I think it’s time to start planning out my days and give them both a little time.
