I wanted to take a minute to thank the creators of She Writes for creating this wonderful site.  I don't have to tell anyone who is reading this that writing can make one feel isolated at times.  It is sometimes frustrating when talking with my non-writer friends who think that I just sit down and type for an hour or so and that is it.  They don't understand about the process at all, and it is difficult to explain it to someone who is not a writer.  Even my best friend's eyes glaze over when I say things like, "oh, this character and her story showed up in my head and I had to write it" and she nods as if she gets it, but I know she is thinking, "what the heck does that mean"...and so it goes.

I am hoping to go to the Writers and Artists retreat in Ireland next year, Anam Cara.  If anyone has ever attended, let me know what you thought.  It is an expensive way to spend a week or two so I am trying to justify the cost...and may not.  I tell myself I can be just as productive at home....but.  A change of scene can be a good thing!
