Isn't it interesting that when you are making money you never question - and are rarely questioned - about the time invested in your endeavor?

But when your efforts are not a financial cornucopia or even a financial trickle, the time invested may be perceived as selfish?
The sting of it is, you have to be.
Be selfish.

Cheryl St.John hit the nail on the head with her statement.

When it comes to writing and  every other labor of love, the time you put into your passion may make or break you.

If you are fortunate, you are surrounded by those who love and support you.  But, there is bound to be some who question your efforts and label them a pipe dream.  Don't let their label define you.

In order to be successful as a writer, you have to write.  In order to write, you have to be very protective of your time and sit your butt in a chair, fingers at the keyboard.

Yes, good timing and good luck may play a role in your success.  But, if you don't have any polished manuscripts, the best luck in the world won't mean a damn thing.

You must write.
Which means, you must make the time.

Be selfish.  It's okay.

Only you can make your dreams come true.

Own it.  Live it.  Write it!
