The dream of being a published writer has been with me as long as I can remember. I carried it with me in my Hilroy notebooks in elementary school, it came with me into my creative writing classes in high school, it determined the courses I would take in university, and it even created this blog. 

But running alongside that dream was a deep fear that I didn’t have what it takes to really make it. 

I developed a set of intricately woven beliefs (I can’t do it, it’s too hard, I’m not creative or talented enough, I don’t know how) – each one building on the other, creating an impenetrable wall and aura of mystery around what it meant to be “published.” This has always gotten in my way, has always stopped me from going further. ...
