Simple is hardly ever easy, especially when it comes to writing. My challenge today was to escavate simple heartfelt emotions from a non-communicative and complicated character and transform those emotions into words that everyone could understand. Simple right? Not!!!

Usually, by the afternoon, I'd be getting ready to take a break from my full swing of writing.  Not so today! Today, I was a mental zombie, listening to one movie sound track after another for inspiration; then my son skyped me and introduced me to the most depressing heavy metal in the known universe.  Who knew heavy metal could convey simple emotions so well?  I also learned by watching those morbid videos that communications are best conveyed when they're not spoken at all.  Deep and more complicated emotions are best found in the slant of a gaze, a missed step, a tremble, a stroke of the hand, an interrupted laugh, and the like. So, I met my personal goal and I'm up to 9900+ word count.
