She writes or is that knits?

I write. I knit. I paint beautiful paintings. I sell cars for now. It is temporary. The job I returned to Delaware with is not running yet. I have to sclep cars once again( We hates it my Precious). It's kind of like a famous song writer singing or writing jingles to pay the rent. That is not what I am going to talk about. I am going to talk about knitting. It is the way I relieve stress. Knitting is not for the grandmotherly only. It is cutting edge design and construction. It is like writing in some ways. There is a begining , an end and a middle of course in the middle. There is a plot (the pattern). There is drama and suspense(ripping back the mastakes, because I knitted two left fronts). There is action and adventure( Hey, I never knitted lace before and did you say that yarn cost 25.00 a skien? What the Hell its only wool, cashmere with a faint hint of silk. I think the wool fumes are getting me a bit high... Did you just say there is only enough to knit this one pattern I have? So what your telling, me is if I mess up I'm in trouble...I only live once. ). Knit or die trying Ha!  I laugh in the face of potential knitting disasters!!! Ask the dust bunnies under the bed where all the UFO s are... that is unfinished objects of the knitted variety to non knitters.

To be serious though, knitting makes it so I do not do things with my hands under duress that would get me otherwise arrested. I cannot give some one inappropriate gestures if I am always knitting, my hands are full, lucky them. I will not say things I shouldn't say if I am knitting because I can't hear them( lalala I can't hear you yelling about how your brother just hit you over the head for hogging all the peanut butter)since I can only hear myself count rows, wait where did that extra stitch come from?

I will just be a second. Did I just hear you say you didn't eat yet? What time is it? Gee I didn't know it was seven..way past dinner. Oh I'll be there as soon as I finish this row. When will that be, you ask? well I have 220 stitches cast on and I am in the middle (see the middle thing , just like writing) of this row, soooo I think I have about 110 left so give me eight or ten minutes and I'll be done this row unlessss I mess up then it could be a few. Oh, did you you just want to order out pizza? Ok that's fine. What did I want on it? Is that what you asked me? No, you asked me that ten minutes ago?  You already ordered?  Gee where are you going? To go get the Pizza okay I'll see you later?  See! Just like writing..totally engrossing.

Well that is knitting for you. There is no stress because I won't see what is going on since the frigging pattern is messed up and well I cant see or hear any thing except for knitting so I won"t be stressed out because you know what? My hands are full and in the end I will be sane because I knit. Yes, there are those who smirk and laugh until they wear a pair of hand knitted cashmere socks. Then they hound me furiously, begging for more until I just block them out. I can't hear you since I am knitting... even more.

The way that you describe your knitting is almost the same way I’d describe my writing. Concentration is always time absorbing and somehow it’s always like this: Who prepares supper? And even more: Who does the dishes?
I love the way that you describe this phenomena.
I’m a European author and in my place memoirs aren’t that interesting for readers unless the authors are already famous. So please bear this in mind when I say: Consider to change the view into 3rd person and also: And: help me, your reader, to read it easily which means: have your text edited so that you are sure that your voice works fluently.
I have an American editor and if US English were my first language, I’d have her anyhow. Her changes preserve my voice and since I like your voice, I’d recommend that you have an editor.
Well, of course, if your genre is memoir or personal essays of all kinds (blogging i.e.), I’m not the right one to comment – but I do comment because I see a huge potential in your writing. Your voice is fresh and that kind of voice can carry readers through novels.
