I'm mulling over my late summer and fall reading possibilities:

Books about writing--My So-called Freelance Life, Get Known Before the Book Deal, Emus Loose in Egnar, Never Eat Alone, and on social networking (I'm on Linkedin, Now What) and anything about blogging.

The graphic novel, Fun Home by Alison Bechdel

Biographes of David Bowie, Joey Ramone, Sal Mineo, Mickey Mantle, Calamity Jane

Surviving Against the Odds:  Village Industry in Indonesia by Ann Dunham (Barrack Obama's mother)

Two historical books about about women, Trail of Thread and Rule Number Two.

Toward the Setting Sun by Brian Hicks

There's a book about baseball called The Long Season.  I requested it but the library sent me a Western novel instead--maybe I'll read that, too.

Ring Lardner's short stories about baseball

Stange, about the only other fiction that appeals to me right now is True Grit, which I've wondered about since the sixties.  Maybe the time is finally right.

What's on your reading list?  Do you have any suggestions or comments?
