Here I am at BlogHer 2011 in sunny San Diego (aka, my hometown), and all I can say is, Somebody pinch me! I can't believe I'm having so much fun and the festivities are just getting started--at least for me it is, because I didn't sign up for the pre-conference activities. But still, this is grand. After all, I'm surrounded by my people! My fellow bloggers, mostly women, but some men, too. And here's the thing about bloggers: they're not shy and they carry a stack of business cards. Tons, which makes me glad I just ordered another 250. I've already met at least 40 bloggers from around the country. Which means I have 3,560 more to meet! Luckily I have today and tomorrow to do so. And plenty of opportunities. This morning for instance, after the welcome and before the first session, we had a fun activity called speed dating. Now mind you, this wasn't designed for getting a date for tonight's parties. This was for the sole purpose of meeting other bloggers and building your audience. True, it felt a bit disorganized. But who cares? It was social networking at it's finest. There's lots of giveaways, too, in the Expo section, which I plan to check out later. I'll collect my swag and let you know about it in my next post. In the meantime, stay tuned. Must stop blogging now, as I have more bloggers to meet. Woo hoo! This is so much fun!

Oh, the balance between blogging . . . and stopping long enough to actually meet other bloggers. Can't wait to hear more.
