Just finished listening to "This is NOT "Feminine Tosh": Writing Meaningful Fiction." So worth the time.
Between a sudden cardiac arrest and surgery last fall (no permanent damage!), finishing a MFA (I graduate next week), and living in an RV while attorneys battle a less than enthusiastic insurance company on repairing damage to my 110 yr. old Victorian, depression came and took up residence in my life.
However, listening to the broadcast was a breath of fresh air. The presentation gave me new energy, helped me to stop beating myself up for not sticking to a writing schedule, and gave me new goals. I'm not the only one who writes a hundred pages and then decides what to do with it. I'm not the only one that goes back and fleshes out characters and does character sketches. I'm not the only one who hones and hones and hones. I was feeling so alone in the outskirts of Oregon, with my writing cohorts in Massachusetts. I'm just now discovering what an amazing blessing She Writes is. I now check in on a much more regular basis and hope to get much more actively involved in the future. Thanks SW! You are amazing! I no longer feel so alone.
