Forget Everything & Let Go

Lately I've been seeing the importance of meditation. I've also noticed that when I am consistent with a meditation practice I am transformed & strong. But when I fall out of practice I am very vulnerable to the energy around me. Especially other people's emotions, the media & my own ego. The separation I feel between me & others, between me & the world, sets in quickly & interferes with how I process information. I feel like it's a struggle to maintain my own identity, & stay true to my own dreams & passion. - But with the oneness I feel while meditating, there is no need to protect this separate self. The separate self no longer exists. The struggle or desire to control anything is over. I am no longer holding up a shield to things outside of me because I am open (clear, silent, surrendered, accepting, still) enough to let things pass through or around me. Negative energy, words & meanings, possible outcomes or fears, the pain of others; these no longer get stuck in my head or linger in my energy field. They waft away as I sit in a space of unconditional love & non-duality.

Can you see why this might be an important practice to have? Meditation or setting time aside to get clear & intentional can make the difference between a blissful relaxing day, or a day when everything is a struggle & life feels cruel.

I know some people think, "Oh, meditation is boring. I don't feel like sitting in an uncomfortable position everyday & taking time out to do nothing. It's too hard." - Well, you are making it hard. Who said it has to be like that? Make it however you like. Have fun with it & let go. - That's the whole point of it. To let go.

Centering yourself, forgetting about your past & future, & diving deep into what this very moment has to offer is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself (& others).

Do you want to practice it with me? Let's do it right now.

Put on a good pair of headphones (like the the ones the robot is wearing in the photo below) & get in a very comfortable position. Make sure you are warm. If you have a pair of snuggley socks, a favorite blanket, & comfy sweater, put them on. - Go ahead, I'll wait for you.

I will list a few styles of healing meditative sounds. Pick one that resonates with you & make it your own. Totally let go & feel it. Get really present & let it guide you.

Close your eyes. Turn off your phone. Focus on the now. Everything else doesn't matter. It's just you, the sound you chose, your comfortable position, & the headphones on your ears. Plus, your very relaxed body & your open mind.

And of course you can meditate or get present without a comfy atmosphere or special sound. I usually practice sitting upright in silence. Whatever you choose, the key is to let go. Get out of your head & into your heart. Know that you are love. You are pure-consciousness-bliss-absolute. Whatever takes you to that knowing, go for it. It's so worth the trip.

"The only thing that is fundamental (real) is consciousness itself; all else is virtual- i.e., a result of an exchange of information within consciousness". ~ Thomas Campbell

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant, and has forgotten the gift". ~ Albert Einstein
