As a writer, I worry over every syllable, every punctuation mark, etc. But as an editor I can't believe the crap I receive. One poet sent an attachment that consisted of over 100 pages of poems. Another writer forwarded a query that he'd previously sent to another publication, and said query contained the previous editor's rejection! The right margin on one short story was off the page, so you couldn't even read the end of the line. And so on.
Yes, I know. Maybe I need to move to a better literary neighborhood.
