It’s one of those days. What I mean by “those days” is that the day is not going the way I planned. I finally made my appointment for a much needed mammogram, but the car didn’t start. So, I tried to call and cancel my appointment, but my *******phone did not work. Then I went on the computer to use ******* Broadband and the message Signal Unavailable came up. I have been having some problems with ******* so I kept trying it and the signal finally came through. And get this and I am not kidding; I am writing this blog entry over because I lost it, even after I saved it. What will I do today? I will wash dishes, vacuum, do laundry, read, and sew some curtains. I wanted to make a pumpkin pie but I have not been able to find any canned pumpkin or sweet potato filling in the stores. One manager said that “there is some kind of production problem.”My only alternative is to buy some yams, cook them and make my own pie filling, which I could do, but I have no neighborhood store. I have a bike and my legs, but the stores are miles away. Most of my neighbors are at work and I don’t know anyone well enough to ask them to get me something at the store if they are going. I will discuss currents events to get my mind off of my problems. How about that crazed, addlebrained ‘minister” who says he plans to burn Korans on 9/11? I wonder where people like him come from and if one person can make such a difference with an evil idea what can I do with one good intention? I keep imagining, say the average ten year old, who is forced to attend that church by a parent or guardian thinking, “When I am old enough, I am outta here and away from these weirdos.” Two students were shot on the first day of school at Mumford High School in Detroit. According to Detroit.com, one child was shot in the buttock and one was grazed in the head by a bullet. Quite a welcome back greeting. Some parents are afraid to send their children to school and who can blame them? There may be more home schooling going on in Detroit in the future. There are some good things happening around me. Yesterday I bought some more vinyl record albums at a low price and in excellent condition. I found Chicago IX Greatest Hits, Close to You by the Carpenters and Debarge’s Rhythm of the Night. I always wanted these albums and now I can afford them all at once:) I also found a video collection all of all the episodes of Soap and the original unaired pilot of Lost in Space. Yep, I'm that old. I chose the tape that had the episode in which Robert Urich gets shot in the shower. I sure do miss seeing Robert Urich. He was a handsome man. 9/9/10 Posted by Judaye at 1:26 PM
