I’m leaving tomorrow for New York, where I’ll be caught up in a combination of a Mediabistro Career Circus and the annual BlogHer conference. I’m hoping the meetings will generate lots of ideas for blogging, for marketing and promotion of my self-published novel, The Cure ,and I’m looking foward to hearing what everyone else is up to.
The BlogHer conference is operating a small bookstore, where copies of The Cure will be up for sale and I can’t wait to see everyone else’s work. But it won’t be all work and no play. What would a trip to New York be without a little fun? The conferences will be punctuated by lots of meetups for after-conference drinks, parties and networking opportunities, inlcuding, I hope, the SheWrites meet-up at Lolita.
I won’t be blogging, but assuming I have internet access on my Blackberry, I’ll be tweeting from the conferences.
I’m hoping to come back motivated, bursting with fresh ideas, and ready to write!
Unfortunately, it's full. I registered a couple of months ago and had to get on a wait list and was pleasantly surprised when I was notified that some space had opened up. If you want to go next year, seems like it's necessary to register several months in advance. I've never been before and am actually priting out the agenda now to see which sessions I want to attend. But it seems like there are presentations on everything from the logistics of creating your blog on WordPress to ways to spark your creativity. Plus some success stories of people who've actually been able to turn their blogs into money makers. Looking forward to it.
hi densie, i saw your post and i have a question that's probably going to sound kind of stupid. how in the world does one go about registering for the blogher conference? do you just show up? i have been looking at http://www.blogher.com/blogher-10 and i see links to the agenda and hotel, but nothing about how to register or pricing or anything.
