My worry over the actual uploading of The Cure for sale on ereaders was unwarranted. The process was actually quick and painless. The Cure is now for sale on the Kindle Bookstore and Smashwords. Of the two, Smashwords was the most self-explanatory. On Kindle, I found myself searching for the actual link to upload the file. Lots of Q & As. Lots of samples. Even a video of how it’s done. But the actual spot to do the uploading of your book file seems to be buried within the Kindle site. I did eventually find it, upload the file, set the price and voila! The Cure is for sale on the Kindle Bookstore.
Smashwords was much more obvious and I like the stats the site provides–how many free samples have been downloaded, how many page views, how many paying customers. You can even add a link to the print version of your book. Mine happens to be on CreateSpace and your personalized page provides links to Delicious, Stumble Upon, Facebook, reddit, Digg and Twitter, if you want to spread the word.
I’m still learning, but if you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email and I’ll do my best to answer. No sense in reinventing the self-publishing wheel.
Thanks for this info. I've been considerting Smashwords for my self publishing.
