As some of you know (through recent comments I've made on here), I am a horrible procrastinator when it comes to writing. My perfectionist nature gets the best of me and robs my words before I can even write them down. And so, I avoid actually writing. Instead, I read blogs about writing. I read books about writing. I read articles/short stories/books that are like what I wish I was writing. I do it because I tell myself I'm jump-starting my creativity, I'm getting those proverbial juices flowing. Really, I'm just procrastinating. And then today I came across this lovely blog post by Betsy Lerner, the author of one of my favourite books on writing, The Forest for the Trees, and it punched my procrastinator in the face. Sometimes blog surfing is good for a jump-start after all.

Well, you already know how i feel about writing & procrastination. I've made the same sort of excuses (oh, let me surf these gagillion blogs to get me going) as you. But at the end of the day, we just gotta buckle down and write.
