Flash Silvermoon's Journey in Women's Spirituality I have been involved with the Women's Spirituality Movement since the beginning in the early 70's and it has been a wonderful way for me to match my politics and spirituality. So many women denied their spiritual sides for a time because the organized religions were so full of misogyny that the only thing to do was rebel or forget the whole thing. Their messages were not life affirming for lesbians or feminists. When I met Z Budapest in '75 we were on the same page and her organizing encouraged me to do the same on the East Coast. When I first moved to Florida from NYC I thought we would be welcomed with open arms with our visions of the Goddess and the path that She offered. Not so, but I stuck it out and kept teaching and offering Dianic Wiccan Circles which eventually grew into a good sized movement. By 1990 I was moved to Gather the Women into a series of Multi Traditional/Cultural Circles called Womanspirit Rising which for the first time featured 4 Priestesses for 4 directions I was the Dianinc Priestess,Ayoka Lanloke Priestess of Yemonja presented the Yoruba aspect,Bahira Sugarman Jewitch Buddhist Priestess covered another section and Georg Suzuki represented the Native American path. It was amazing and over 350 women came out of the Broom Closets with no newspaper or computer promo. In 2002 after publishing my Wise Woman's Tarot,which is a Global Goddess deck and book, I produced the first of 7 Wise Woman's Festivals[7th this spring] which like Womanspirit Rising and my book featured this Multi Path style. Sometimes I am slow to understand the way I am evolving and it finally became clear to me that even calling myself an Eclectic Dianic Witch was too narrow a place to park my broom so..now I refer to myself as Walking a Rainbow Goddess Path.
