Thought I had lost my creativity. Hadn't been writing since August when I moved to TX to pursue my Ph.D. The last four years, I have jumped into NaNoWriMo and finished it, and so my heart would not allow me to skip this year. But I didn't think I could do it. After all, November is the craziest month of a school semester, what with papers and projects to complete before finals. I didn't think I could do all the academic work AND still write. Well, three weeks in, and I'm closing in on 40,000 words. So, I'm feeling a bit proud of myself right now. I know the writing isn't great, but it at least is showing me that I can write, that I still have creativity in me, and that keeps me sane as I finish out my first semester of doctoral work.

Thanks. I'm feeling myself SLOW DOWN with the creative writing, but I just have 13,000 words to go, so I'll FIND a way to make this week count. :-)

Good for you! Getting that first draft "finished" no matter what is the most important thing you can do. And all that while you're in school?! Bravo! Just a few more days to go!
