I just joined She Writes this weekend. Hi! In addition to doing my own writing, I also work for Writers in the Schools (WITS) in Houston. Each summer we hire writers for part-time teaching (Sept. - May) in this area. You can teach creative writing as little as 2 hours/week, but you have to be able to commit for the school year. The pay is $55/hour. To find out more about these positions, here's the link: http://www.witshouston.org/work-wits-0 For more information about the WITS organization, you can visit our home page: http://www.witshouston.org If you want to read more, including great stories and poems by the students, visit our blog: www.witsblog.org And FINALLY, if teaching creative writing to kids sounds cool to you but you live somewhere other than Houston, consult this list on the blogroll of the national alliance: www.witsalliance.org to find a similar program near you. Happy summer reading and writing, Robin Reagler [email protected]
