Plans I Have for my Life? Turn around and tell me What God's Plans Are

When you see a dollar sign with the following inscription: "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future" what comes to your mind? Maybe you're thinking God will wipe out every terrible thing just to give you prosperity and a future.

But, is that REALLY what the scripture, taken out of context, says? I think not!

Unfortunately, this comes from Jeremiah 29:11. But... wait a second, something's wrong!

Seriously wrong!

If we zoom out of that scripture context and read to ourselves and others what the verses before it imply, we get a better understanding of what this prophet is trying to communicate to our hearts and minds.

Read Jeremiah 29:4-14 if you want a more clear picture.

God does not want us to be famous rather then him being famous. Here's an explanation: God doesn't want us to become so proud in this scripture that we misplace his content.

In other words, like I talked about last week regarding peace, (go back to last Sunday's sermon for more info), Jesus ONLY offers perfect peace that reminds us of us being broken and his plans worth it!

Bottom line: don't make any sudden plans without God knowing about them first. You want to know how to make God laugh? Tell him your plans.

So, when life hurts you a lot and you start to question God, open up the bible and talk OPENLY to Him. Recite scripture, OVER AND OVER again so that is takes root in you mind and heart.

I am praying for you that you will live and walk intentionally in the Lord's plan for your life and not your own ideas and precepts.
