"I come in Peace!" Someone might have said this or you may have heard it in a movie before. 

Peace? What is this gift of peace of which you or the bible speaks? 

Jesus says in John chapter 14-16 (which is called the Farewell Discourse) that the world may offer a form of peace but his Peace brings eternal life and reassurance. How?

The difference between the Peace Jesus gives and the "peace" the world gives is that the Peace Jesus gives is lasting peace and doesn't bring you out of your troubles in this life right away. The "peace" the world gives is only a momentary pleasure that will fade within the blink of an eye. 

So, the next time someone yells, "Peace!" ask them what they mean and than if it has to do with peace and quiet which is worldly peace, remind them of the lasting peace of Jesus the Messiah. Tell them about the good news of this man who brought a Peace that will last a lifetime into your eternity and mine.
