Fearless Inventory of Our Live: How To Dig Deep Into the Heart and Soul of Our Issues

What comes to your mind when you hear the word, "fear?" Maybe you are afraid right now.

Let's look at the bible for answers: 1 John 4:18 says part of what you might see on mugs and counters at coffee shops: "perfect love drives out all fear."

But, if we zoom out of the context of scripture, we can see the whole picture of what the disciple Paul wants to communicate to our hearts.

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

Did you catch that last line there? "The one who fears is not made perfect in love." Wow!

You might be familiar with the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. But I wanted to make something clear: the God that made the universe dwells among us and helps us fight our battles whether or not we are a David or a Saul.

David told the giant that he came to him with sword and javelin, and how he came in the name of the Lord his God Almighty.

The battle is the Lord's, David said later in the text, and that this giant has defied the God of Israel in that time and age.

Friends: the next time you find yourself facing another Goliath situation, pick up a stone (in your heart) and grasp it carefully in your hand whichever hand you choose and say a prayer of thankfulness to God. He died on the cross so that we cannot live in fear even though we will experience fear in this short life.

The bible does not promise a life without fear. It promises help when fear comes up and there are ways you can escape it. Don't withhold another second to receive Christ if you have not already.

Life is short.

Come to the Table.

Blessings!
