On Saturday, September 3, Advocates United for Humanity founders and supports from France; Florida; and Pennsylvania walked to create public awareness for child abuse. Each individual’s walk was recorded by photographs and short videos that was later posted on the organization’s official website.

Local author and advocate Donna Kshir walked with her husband, Roger, whom she calls her ‘biggest support system.’ The duo completed the 5K #RescueWalk in the Chapman Township area in just under and hour. Kshir’s co-founder, sister advocate and best friend Lee Roberts walked with her service dog, Otis, in the Community of Crestview. Other walkers who recorded and shared their journey was Isabelle Esling of Paris, France and Bob and Xavier Shank of Renovo, Pennsylvania.

Kshir encourages parents to ‘look for signs of abuse, grooming behavior, strange interactions with other children and adults or your child’s behavior and to always ask questions. The best gift you can give your child is open communication and knowledge. The knowledge to speak out and protect themselves from these monsters. Abusers are pros at being deceptive.’

Kshir is a columnist and writer who seeks truth and justice for children exposed to abuse. She speaks out and writes against these injustices done onto children. Her work has landed her on the bestsellers list multiple times. She is best known for her teen book ‘A Story of Survival’ that tells a heart-felt story of a young boy being abused while in the foster care system.

Advocates United for Humanity is a Clinton County based nonprofit organization founded by Kshir and Roberts in November 2015. Each woman has over a decade of hand’s on experience, as well as certified advocates and mandated reporters. Their goal is to provide vital resources to those affected by abuse. Along with aiding abused children, abused animals, bullied children and teens, and survivors of domestic violence; both women was able to travel to testify before lawmakers for harsher sentences for those who abuse children and commit violent crimes.
