So. My second book came out two days ago. And what ensued from well-meaning friends is ... you decide.
In the book I mention how broke I am.
"You should hire a Creative Coach to help you with your books."
I mention how I eat at Chevron and Mobile gas stations when my monthly funds run out.
"You can get a book trailer made on Fiverr."
I mention how I'm trying to format the print version by myself.
"You should pay someone to format it for you."
I mention how I'm currently out on a ledge from worrying.
"JUMP!"
Okay, the last one is false but you get the general idea. Does I Am Broke mean something else in English, like I Am Rich? The exchanges remind me of other times in my life when I've been broke. People would routinely respond with, "You should get a job." LIKE I HADN'T ALREADY TRIED THAT.
