Hi! My name is...
Contributor

Marie! And it's so nice to meet you! I know we're both writers, but let me introduce myself.

I don't have a long history as a writer, in fact, it's probably been just over a year now, that I began blogging seriously. I began with a lovely, little site called, "The Business of Blooming", and it was a place for me to discuss both anorexia and depression - two mental illnesses that I've battled over the last 10 years. When I began to feel a bit limited with this blog, I said goodbye to "The Business of Blooming" and started blooming at my new site, marietheresebatt.com

I write for women, and help them overcome fear, love themselves again, and challenge the status quo that's keeping them stuck in someone else's expectations. It's my passion, but sometimes the words get in the way. So, I'm still learning how to become a great writer.

This year, I published my first book, The Heiress Project: Every Girl's Guide to Reclaiming Your Worthiness and Creating a Life You Actually Love. I like to describe it as you and me, sitting over a long cup of tea, talking about our struggles, and me being your biggest fan and loudest cheerleader, reminding you of all the strength and love you already have within you; that you can create your best life from the inside out. It's an empowerment session; a mucho serving of inspiration and motivation.

I love being able to write to women and to create positivity and compassion, in a world where we're up against so much competition and negativity. I suppose I particularly like it because now, I'm a bit removed from what's familiar and normal. That's because I currently write from a little town in Italy, called Bibbiena - about an hour from Florence. My online presence is a way for me to connect with like-minded women from all over the world. And I love it.

I'd venture to say that this cross-cultural experience is pushing me to write more and more. I've got three new book ideas floating around up there. And I find myself musing over them on my walks through the Tuscan farmlands.

So, that's me! What about you? What do you write about?
