In the past I have written how volunteering your writing skills to film festivals as Communication Director has its rewards. Not only are you promoting art within your communities but you are getting your feet wet with creative writing skills to describe wonderful film stories. Writing for your local NGO (Non Governmental Organization or Non-Profit) has many personal rewards as well. Having been a member of the Lively Arts Foundation for 28 years, an organization that promotes professional talent as well as local talent has many benefits to it. Your creative skills flow as you write about the presentation, you are telling a story of why and how this performance is significant. Engaging people in your community to attend and support the Arts via your writing is very powerful and gratifying. Consider joining your local NGO or non-profit that has meaning to you personally, whether it's the local PBS channel or American Diabetes Association and let your creative juices flow.
As the Lively Arts Foundation moves into their 28th season, I wrote members of City Council who agreed that this great organization should be presented with a City Proclamation for their community civic engagement. On October 26, 2017 we had a nice ceremony at City Hall. On October 30, 2017 we booked our company on the local top watched show on Fox TV Great Day Fresno to present our 2017-2018 presentation which starts November 4, 2017 with the fantastic Ballet Hispanico of New York City. I hope my fellow writers will follow their passion and write for, and become a volunteer Communications Director for a cause that is dear to them.
