"Jesus, our high priest, is able to understand our weakness. When Jesus lived on earth, he was tempted in every way. He was tempted in the same ways  we are tempted, but he never sinned. With Jesus as our high priest, we can feel free to come before God's throne where there is grace. There we recieve mercy and kindness to help us when we need it." (ERV)

I don't know how this scripture strikes you, but for me I am so encouraged!

There is such a stigma that you have to have your life together to be a Christian. I'm sure you have at least heard the joke that "the church would burn down" if some people entered. However, when you read the Bible the exact opposite is true. Only the imperft people encounter Jesus. Being jacked up is a prerequset for following Jesus.

So, let me begin with telling you I far surpass the quota of my prerequest. Without Jesus as my Savior, I cannot find a way to gain God favor. God is perfection and nothing less can reach him. Even one small drop of black paint in a gallon of pure white will forever tarnish it's perfection. I know personally there is more than one drop of imperfection in me.  "All  have sinned and are not good enough to share God's divine greatness." (Romans 3:23 ERV) We are all in this boat together!

However, the story doesn't end there.  Verse 24 goes on to say, "They are made right with God by his grace. This is a free gift. They are made right with God by being made free from sin through Jesus Christ."  When Jesus is your Redeemer you are perfect in God's eyes and free to approch God!

Not only does God shower all who belive in Jesus with eternal grace, but Jesus actually sympathize with our mundain struggles. He lived, confined to our human condition, for 33 years. He is not up on his high horse looking down his nose. Instead he is on our side. In fact he cares so sincerly about your wellbeing he literally took on Hell to make a way for you to enjoy life to it's fullest potential.

"So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God." (Romans 3:16a NLT, emphasis mine) As a child of God we can be bold and confident to pray as we would talk to a friend. There are no religious requirements or magic words. God sent Jesus becasue he wanted to clear the path for you to be in relationship with him. There is no reason to be sheepish before him. He is crazy about you! He is NOT mad at you. You won't burn the church down. God is madly in love with you! We are free to be real about what we are dealing with.

How encouraging is that? I am a daughter of the King of kings! I can run to him in every moment of my life like a child throwing herself into the safe arms of her loving father. I can be real and raw in his presence. Nothing can stop me!

Father, thank you for loving me long before I loved you. Thousands of years ago you send Jesus to make a run way for me to find you. Help me, Holy Spirit, to live my life bodly and confidently in the hope of this salvation. I am a daughter of the one true King! Thank you I can wrestle in your presence. Thank you that I don't have to surpress my emotions in your presence.Thank you that before you is the only place I am truly free to feel everything I encounter in this life. I am so encouraged by your word. Your promices give me life!

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
