We’ve kept a close eye on Academy Award-winning actress and producer Reese Witherspoon in recent years as she’s become something of a literary ambassador – sharing her love for reading, launching her Hello Sunshine Book Club on Audible and spreading the word about up-and-coming authors. She has also made a name for herself in the book-to-film adaptation business, acquiring the rights to more than a dozen books, with plans to bring them to the screen.

Naturally, it was about time she write a book of her very own – and lucky for us, Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love and Baking Biscuits debuts in just a few days!

“It's all about Southern living and my Southern heritage, and how that sort of informs pretty much everything I can do,' Witherspoon says in an Instagram video. “'From what I eat to how I decorate to how I celebrate family traditions – even how I do my hair.”

Although it’s just around the corner, she’s teased us on Instagram with recipes like this one that we’ll find in her book. Here’s what we know we can expect: lots of southern style, her entertaining tips and insight into her family’s most beloved traditions.

Reese’s grandmother Dorothea always said that a combination of beauty and strength made southern women “whiskey in a teacup.” We can’t wait to see all the southern goodness this book holds in store for us!
