Morning Ladies!  Happy New Year!

   I decided to write a biography in 2019.  I am not at all sure how to go about it.  My subject has recently passed away and was an icon to many so I don't know what representation I need (if any) to do the book.  Can I talk to people and say I'm writing a book about this person and not get in trouble?   Or do I need to get a book deal to legitimately talk to people?   I don't want to get in trouble since there are other biographies out there but I think I can put a different spin on his life.

   Any help would be much appreciated.
