The Season for Poetry

Happy Spring!

Warmer temperatures begin to prevail here in New England. Most of the windows of my home are lifted to let the fresh air flow through our rooms.  Stepping outside is delightful, as I'm greeted by buds on forsythia bushes and pussy willows waving to me.  My heart races to see a riot of colorful crocuses smilling up at me on my walk to our wooded labyrinth.   I can't help but find a place to sit and write about the beauty I see emerging each day, and my favorite way to write about the revitalization of earth is through poetry.

April is the Month for Writing

Each April, writers and poets gather to write in community and support each other's writing achievements through participating in NaPoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo.  This year I'm blending my involvement in both by writing 30 poems in 30 day with the intent to compile them into an ebook collection.  My name at Camp NaNoWriMo is "Dracofire."

A Purple Crocus Preview

Here is a preview, a haiku I wrote on April 2nd:

"Crocus Buds"

Little purple buds

Rise from leafy stems,

Harald happiness.

Sometimes writing increases the happiness we feel when we encounter beautiful moments in nature.  May you all be blessed with many beautiful moments this month, and extra moments to write about them!
