Like flayed skin, the bark of this branch –

When I touch; heal, I feel heat, life’s “latch”.

Like a winding road, the trunk of this one tree –

Thinking, dancing dryad – oh to be free!

Like a crew-cut the tufts of this tree’s head;

Waves in the wind – Nature’s barometer “lead”.

Like a striptease, the tree lost all its leaves.

The “neighbors” stayed clothed, though, so we perceive.

Yggdrasil, spirit, folk tales, an Oak Ghost…

Without dreams, our trees, we would be lost.

Let's be friends
