I wonder if when a bird dies [flies] there’s a fissile –

The soul splits, [leaves] the flesh, ascending like a missile.

Well, the joy of flight [bird or angel] writes a missal;

A leap of faith is an instinct, not boring drivel.

The Mockingbird speaks. I hear many voices (Whistle!).

When threatened this mimic’s flying, a well-aimed chisel.

Small brown birds, [like a Wren] are a fluttering crystal.

Running through gravel, [never a stroll] this bird’s a thistle.

And when the sky opens up and the weather’s dismal,

Do birds usually seek shelter (natural fissile)?
