In the old Wild West, if you are bootless,

Chances are you’d be considered useless.

Kittens score high in regards to cuteness;

But will they survive if they stay clueless –

To the Dogs of War and their smug hubris?

Don’t be alarmed though, love can be ruthless.

Persistent joy can make hate quite foolish.

I don’t know, but birds appear toothless,

But they can peck so they don’t go foodless.

If you’re bootless, perhaps you are footless.
