Drip…drip… drop some translucent, the others glazed gaze, just waking;

Rain sometimes falls like energetic fingers sketching.

A plaintive lonely cat cries; I instinctively answer: Strike up the band!

Crawling out from underneath a parked car, a white cat sniffs my hand.

After storms, puddles, or minute ponds, linger in the long grass.

When the light’s right, these waters reflect (mirror) US, no easy task.

A layer of dirt and rain, life struggling on… the window pane –

Within, the haggard brown tabby watches me walking down the lane.

Drip…drip… drop, the excessive rain seeped in-between the roof’s rafter.

Placing a bowl underneath a necessary hereafter.
