Hi everybody! Brooke Warner and I will be traveling to Nashville next week to meet our team of sales representatives from Ingram Publisher Services, and tell them all about the fabulous books coming out next spring from She Writes Press. We will be introducing ourselves to these critical people for the first time, and telling the story of She Writes.com and the press. A big part of that story has to do with the power, engagement, and enthusiasm of this community, and we need YOU to take two seconds out of your day (really, two seconds) to help us demonstrate it.

So here is a "save the date."  On Tuesday, November 19th, at 1:30PM EST, we want to be able to tell a room full of sales reps to boot up Twitter and search for the hashtag #weloveSWP, and have their screens practically creak under the weight of all the tweets they see! Even better, give Ingram Publisher Services some love too. Sample tweets:

Hello to @kwicoff and @brooke_warner presenting today to @IngramContent reps in Nashville! #weloveSWP

@IngramContent, thank you for distributing @shewritesdotcom's new indie press! #weloveSWP

Please tweet starting early in the AM on Tuesday the 19th, as we need as many as possible before our 1:30 presentation.

And don't worry. We'll remind you.

Kamy

here's the link to the map and the photo of the latest one:

The graph represents a network of 298 Twitter users whose recent tweets contained "#weloveSWP", taken from a data set limited to a maximum of 10,000 tweets. The network was obtained from Twitter on Tuesday, 19 November 2013 at 19:25 UTC.

You can see clusters of tweeters who are already linked to each other (by follows) and who are the "bridges" connecting to the nodes (central) in each cluster.  On the left are the individuals who could be recruited into the groups (or not, depending).

    Doris Lessing

There's a lesson to be learned from Doris Lessing; her life, not her death.  Her name remained iconic to the reading public and she was to win a Pulitzer Prize for 'The Golden Notebook' in 1963. Once, wondering how difficult it might be for a 'no name' writer to get accepted, she famously got her agent to submit  her latest work to her publisher Michael Joseph, under a fictitious name. He turned down Jane Somer's 'The Diary of a Good Neighbour'. Reviewers, considered Somer 'promising'. Let in on the deception, Michael Joseph finally published, but it didn't sell until the hoax was reveled.  Proof of the difficulties beginning writers, and even old pros, face in getting published.  Could this be the reason why more qualified writers self publish today?

  • I think my inner nerd is showing, but a social network map of all the tweets sounds really cool!

Liking all the comments.  :)  And, of course, #weloveSWP

  • Count me in!  Let's rock Twitter, girls!  Woo hoo!!

@ToryMcCagg... you can do either, or both.  If you have an account on computer, just load the app on your smartphone and login.  :)

  • Christine Morton

I will make a social network map of all the tweets so you can see who and where your support is coming from. (via NodeXL, an open source online social network analysis tool)

  • Catherine Curan

Count me in, Kamy! Sounds like a great way to showcase the SheWrites community.

  • Lori Nelson Spielman

    Absolutely! Good luck!

  • Evalyn Lee

    Will do!  Love this idea!

  • Taneisa Grier

I am so pumped. Very excited for you all. I'm in.

  • Rossandra White

I'm in! Totally impressed by Anne Leigh Parrish's use of Hootsuite to do this. I want to do that too!! I guess this means I'll have to actually find out how it works. Go Kamy and Brooke and have a good time while you're in Nashville!!

  • Kathy McIntosh

Good use of Twitter! I'll chirp.

  • Mary Breaden

This is possibly the most charming idea that's ever been brought to an Ingram meeting. Will Tweet!

  • Francine Huss

OK I guess it's time to learn how to Tweet!

Thank you Brooke and Kamy for representing us, cheering us and selling us to the Ingram Sales Reps. I know you'll do a wonderful job!

  • J. Dylan Yates

    Excellent idea!!!  On my calendar.

  • Pat Sabiston

You also need to get interviewed by River Jordan, a radio interviewer in Nashville!

  • Judith Newton

It's in my calendar! Thanks a lot, you two!

  • Cathy Turney

I will learn how to tweet to do this! SheWrites rocks!

  • Tracey Barnes Priestley

Thanks to you both for your efforts. I'm fully on board with the 11/19 tweeting deluge!

  • Mary L. Holden

I'm in---even though I keep hitting the Twitter ceiling! I follow more people than they follow me (there's my memoir) and so Twitter thinks I am a loser and won't allow me to follow others! Funny funny Twitter. Let me know when you meet the Twitter folks---might as well make them next in line after Ingram due to the way you two are changing the world!  Thank you!

  • Nina Gaby

    I don't tweet....any other way I can support?
Especially as I am considering publishing with you, your success could be my success!

For years I have struggled to find the right community of writers.  I love this site! I belong to the group Novelist, and have met the most amazing group of women that I call my friends, sisters in writing.  This is such an amazing site.  Good luck, count me in Next Tuesday. I will tweet my heart out...Safe travels as well.

  • Please do remind us! (Me, anyway!) I've put it on my calendar, too. Have a great time!
