I'm writing to announce another open submissions period! From May 27th to June 2nd She Writers will have another chance to submit informative posts about the craft of writing. The theme for the week is Summer. Let's kick off the season right!
If you'd like to share any insights, stories, or advice, simply make a post on your She Writes blog and send me a message on She Writes with a link to your post! I'll be reading through them and selecting some to feature each day right here, on the front page of She Writes.
Happy Writing!
Caitlyn
I sent a message to you, but didn't post here. This is the blog post I wrote last week: http:/ / www.shewrites.com/ profiles/ blogs/ if-summer-is-fun-why-is-writing-still-hard. May we all accomplish writerly things this summer.
Hi, Caitlyn: I wrote this blog on a day when the sun shone here in Oregon and summer seemed only a day or so away. The sun went away for weeks, but the moment of almost-summer still makes me smile.

Hello, Caitlyn! The open submission call inspired me to post "5 Ways to Immediately Improve Your Writing" based on my book, How to Write with Flair. Enjoy! http:/ / www.shewrites.com/ profiles/ blogs/ 5-ways-to-immediately-improve-your-writing

Caitlyn,
I'd like to submit a SUMMERTIME themed BACKSTORY ESSAY for your SUMMERTIME posts for my novel (my 15th) coming out June 1....the novel itself is set mostly in summertime and was my first ever published novel back in 1984. But I can't seem to get a message through to you any other way so I'm leaving a comment here. Email me at [email protected] and I'll send you that ESSAY about the writing of my first book way back in 1984....a book that will be out again on Friday for the first time in 30 years. Warmly, author Kathryn Meyer Griffith [email protected]
Hi Caitlin and members of She Writes. If you're thinking about taking a writers retreat check out my post Summer Writers Conference and Retreat -- 5 Tips on how to choose. There's something for every budget. The one in Tatamagouche NS is a real bargain at under $500 as it includes accommodation, all meals and the workshops. If you receive a bursary you can reduce the cost even more.

Hi Caitlyn, Here is my blog about summer: to accomplish some of our writing goals and validate ourselves as writers we may need retreat time but might be focused on our family vacation needs instead. Here are some simple ideas I shared with my writing group:

Hi Caitlyn: Great idea. Summer is an evocative time with long days for thinking and writing and yet days in competition with time for children and grandchildren, gardening, and outdoor exercise. I'm developing ideas for a post and will definitely send you the link. I'm looking forward to reading all the featured blogs. --Matilda
We have to wait until the 27th to send you a link?
I would like to enter my post for the Summer Submission.
