BookExpo America -- Mia's strapping on her walking shoes, Erin's sitting it out. Love it, hate it, if you are among those attending it this week, we want to hear from you. Please use the comments section of this post to share insights gleaned, lessons learned, and overall impressions with your fellow She Writers. We'll all be listening in. And for more blow-by-blow of course, you can always check out BEA's own blog, The BEAN.

I'm heading to BEA on Thursday. I'll be speaking on a panel on the main stage at 1:00pm and spending the rest of the day, trying to make friends with every book seller and librarian I can. My debut novel hits the shelves on August 24th, so I'm hoping I make a good impression. Suggestions welcome on how to make booksellers remember my name, or rather my book's name, Substitute Me.

I am not sure yet what I will learn, but I've reserved a spot at the Thursday lunch. I do not Twitter yet....
Please look for my name tag and identify yourself.

  • I live for BEA. Seriously, it's my favorite time of the year. Last year for the first time I got to feel all writing rockstar and sign books in the autographing area and it was a blast. I'm doing it again this year, 3-4 pm on Thursday May 27th (11-12 at the Cleis Press booth as well), for Please, Sir: Erotic Stories of Female Submission. I'm excited to get new books by Mary Roach (Packing for Mars), Marcy Dermansky (Bad Marie), Rachel Vail (Brilliant) and Terry Hope Romero (Viva Vegan), among others (still sorting through lists).
