New Writing Challenges Await a New Year!
Contributor

This year is a good year to start writing or finish a new book whether it's fiction, nonfiction or poetry. Writing is hard, challenging and fun. It takes us out of ourselves, or maybe more into ourselves, where we create a new world that can help us  and others appreciate the world that we currently live in.

Writing means letting go, giving into the process and that can be scary, which is why writing might be pushed aside year--after-year. However, that is a waste of time. If you want to write, start now! Don't wait until another year goes by. Start this year, but you must let go or surrender to the process of writing. Let your voice speak and come alive through writing what you want to write.

Ask yourself, "What do I want to write?" Seek a project you long to write about and then research how to write it, and finally, Knock on the door of writing wisdom and then enter.

To get started, just find out what you want to write about and let your heart speak words onto the page.  You can plot, outline, or just sit down and write. There is no perfect, one-size-fits-all. Embrace your writer's path and believe in it. After all, this is your writing life, and it needs to matter to you and created to suit you. That's what counts.

May you have many wonderful writing adventures this New Year and many years after.

Very encouraging post, Juanita. What are your primary projects for 2019? I have a kids novella to finish and a YA fantasy, both worked on during NaNoWriMo 2018. Also have letters to write....and my husband gave me an online essay-writing course to work through. Also writing poetry. ~:0)
