Hi--I'm using historical facts in a fiction work. It's not always easy to corroborate facts with fiction. My particular work is about a suffragist I've created, and I'm uncovering some interesting facts about the suffrage movement in the State of Georgia, where my character "lives." For example, Georgia's Legislature was so opposed to women getting the vote that it sent a letter to he U.S. Congress after the 19th Amendment was passed that essentially said, "We know we have to let 'them' vote, but we're not happy about it," and the State of Georgia never formally accepted the 19th Amendment until 1970. Amazing stuff, history!
