I'm at the difficult and frustrating point of looking for an agent, and the job is so time-costly, it seems interminable and impossible. It's a tremendous amount of work to research even a few who might match the heart of the story and "get" the meaning and intrinsic value of it. pot-boilers, steamy (even if silly) romances, and blood and guts pulp fiction/ detective stories sell better than literature. How can we as writers find a cluster of agents who might have thoughts and feelings other than monetary ones? I'm a believer that in the long run, good writing will endure longer and maybe even make more money for the publisher. But I seem to be in a rare minority. Am I?
