From city-dwelling, 9-5 Government worker to living on a farm in the middle of the Canadian Prairie: Billi J Miller is a photographer, author, speaker, farmwife & mother.
When Billi married her husband, a 4th generation Canadian farmer in 2010, she noticed there were very little photographs of their rich, 100-year farming heritage. As a photographer, she felt called to do something about it. Billi is a photographer + writer who believes that families should have a meaningful collection of photos that remind them every day why it is they love living where they do. She portrays, like no other, the permanence + pride of Canadian farm life.
Her award-winning work has been featured in and displayed at: museums, corporate offices, in countless newspapers and magazines, and on the CBC.
In 2016, she added "author" to her list of accomplishments when she published her first book profiling 17 traditional farmwives from the Canadian Prairies with candid stories + recipes (Farmwives in Profile, FriesenPress). Her second book (Farmwives 2) is launching March 2018. Miller also sells fine art photography from her extensive travel and landscape photography portfolio (www.billijmillerprints.etsy.com), as well as, writes freelance for newsprint + magazines. Miller is sure she's found her passion blending photography and writing has no plans to stop telling the story of inspiring Canadians.
Billi is a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) and the Canadian Media Guild (CMG).
