A graduate of Fordham University School of Law and Manhattan College, Christine Shields Corrigan grew up in Staten Island, where she was diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma at fourteen. She built a successful two-decade career as a labor and employment law attorney, then as a legal writer and editor. After surviving cancer in midlife, Chris became a freelance writer and cancer patient advocate.

She lives in Somerset County, New Jersey with her husband, children, and devoted Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Chris serves on the programming committee of the Morristown Festival of Books, teaches creative nonfiction writing for a local adult education program, and provides Writing as a Healing Practice workshops for cancer support groups.

When she’s not writing, Chris works in her garden, reads, and cooks.
