In her younger years, while busy raising her family, CJ Golden was also a speech therapist in the New Fairfield, Connecticut, school system until she started her own successful speech and hearing diagnostic center.
During this time, she was also honing her love of theater, taking classes at Western Connecticut University, performing in local productions and, ultimately earning the actors’ screen, television, radio and theatre union cards. This hard work and persistence paid off as it enabled her to work on the professional level.
In the late 1980′s Golden closed up the diagnostic center and went to New York City where she was cast in several soap operas and various commercials. A bit of print modeling and voice-over acting was added to the mix. And then Los Angeles called and she followed her dream of working under the Hollywood sign. The culmination of that career was a bit part in a major motion picture – the name of which she will not divulge.
Finding her own voice, however – not that of a person she was impersonating as she did on stage and film – was more difficult. And thus, Golden turned to writing, eventually seeing her words published in newspapers, literary journals and magazines. During this time, all of her writing focused on strengthening the lives of women and girls; sharing with them her own struggles and the lessons she learned as she worked to joyfully accept the transitions that come with the passing of our years. Ultimately, this led to the publication of her first two books, Tao of the Defiant Woman and Tao-Girls Rule!
Those books, along with strong communication skills forged through Golden’s theater and teaching background, led to the facilitation of workshops and speaking engagements around the country. Golden claims that when she works with women and girls she always returns from the event stronger and more secure than ever before. Apparently it’s a two-way street as the praises Golden receives time-after-time from her audiences are heartfelt, enthusiastic and very appreciative.
CJ Golden is proud to announce her new book, Reflections From Beyond: Sharing a Message of Hope, Peace and Kindness. She looks forward to having people read her words and share in the dramatic, life-altering journey of near-death experiencer Tracy LaCroix. After meeting Tracy, hearing his story, interviewing experts and writing the book, CJ’s life, too, has been forever changed – in a most positive way. She and Tracy sincerely hope the same for anyone who reads the book and needs to receive its message of hope, peace and kindness.
