Cecilia Sepp
Cecilia Sepp is Consultant & Writer with CS Association Services, a consultancy that supports associations and non-profits in a variety of areas. Her areas of expertise include component relations, communications, volunteer management, and organizational strategy.
Additionally, Cecilia is Senior Associate, Strategy & Client Leadership, at Association Laboratory Inc., a leading national firm that specializes in the research and development of business strategy for associations. In addition to leading the DC practice, she specializes in qualitative research and assisting clients in understanding the environmental factors affecting their organizations.
Based in Silver Spring, Maryland, she brings over two decades of experience to the association management profession, having served as a staff member at professional societies, trade associations, and a non-profit dance organization.
She shares her experiences and knowledge with association professionals as a faculty member of ASAE’s CenterU, where she leads courses on association management, component relations, marketing, supervisory management, and leadership.
Cecilia is a Past Chair of the ASAE Communication Section Council; she also served two years as Chair of the Gold Circle Awards program, which recognizes outstanding communications within the association community. In 2008, the Communication Section Council honored her with a special Gold Circle Award for outstanding service.
She was President of American Independent Writers (AIW) from 2007-2009, and served on the board as Immediate Past President 2009-2010. Cecilia was named the 2010 recipient of the AIW Philip M. Stern Award, the organization's highest honor, which recognizes exceptional achievement, leadership, and service on behalf of the freelance writing community.
Cecilia received a B.A. in political science, with an adjunct in management, from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. She was nominated for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship, and she graduated with department honors.
