I am an author of poems, memoir and essays, and I've written short stories in the past. For the past three years I've been plagued by a series of serious illnesses that has changed my life completely. I was unable to write or paint during this period. Only now do I have the ability and desire to start again. Being ill can be a full time job.

In December of 2014 I moved to Naples FL from NYC with the help of my son. I was still recovering from a severe case of MRSA from bilateral knee replacements that had gone wrong. My prosthetic knee had been replaced with concrete spacers and I wore a metal brace to keep my leg straight. I was unable to walk. So with my bad leg and good son we made it here. At the end of January 2015 I had another surgery to put a prosthetic knee back in and resumed physical therapy in order to learn how to walk again. But that was not to be the end of my physical trials and tribulations. How much one can endure depends on how one meets each and every challenge thrown his or her way.

I've been seriously writing for the past twenty years, minus the recent lapse of writing due to illness. In all that time I've not submitted my work to any publication or contest due to a severe insecurity, which I think I have about conquered. During the writing years I took many classes and courses, studied with some respected writers such as Joan Houlihan, Franz Wright and A.E. Stallings, was admitted to an MFA program but had to withdraw, as it was the time of the onset of my severe illnesses. I am finally brave enough, or have found the courage to want to show my work. This is where I am right now.
