I spent decades in the arts, as a former director of the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and The Chrysler Museum of Art. I wrote to attract diverse audiences which led me to start writing for an audience of my own. I published my first novel, "Provenance," in 2015. I'm a native New Yorker and the mother of two grown daughters of whom I am immensely proud. My husband is a college professor and also an author, and we live near Washington, DC.
