I am a word gatherer, yoga guide of the gentle kind, and maker-upper-of-things.
I am also a highly-sensitive INFP (dreamy introvert). In this noisy, intrusive world, I struggled for years to hear and trust my own voice.
This exploration of voice started in my early thirties when I lived my childhood dream and became a performing singer/songwriter. I released two independently produced CDs and was nominated for several local awards. But it was the writing, not the performing that called to me most. I stopped and went back to "real life."
After years of doing what I was "supposed to do" (working in an office, taking care of my family, forgetting my dreams) I found my way back to my writing voice through my body. Yoga connected me to truth in a way that nothing else ever has. That, and the support of a rich, local writing community here in Sacramento, CA, led me back to my gifts.
I am currently leading writing groups, working one-on-one with other writers, and devoting lots of time to my own writing every day.
