    I caught the bug from my brother and sister, only later did I learn my mom kept an extensive diary as a young woman and still writes inspirational/encouraging essays when the mood strikes her. So I'd say a little of both :)

    Agree with Emily, what brought the character to the behavior slash outcome? It may not be written into the story, but it will create depth to your writing when you pen them down. Sometimes a stereotype works (haven`t we all had them in 'real life'...
