We are a two-coffee-shop household and I'm not the Startucks one. What more do you need to know about me?
I started as a writing teacher (ESL and remedial, many years with CUNY) and then took the plunge to not teach but to write.
Then I took the plunge to not write for myself, but to write for the public. Some of this was in the form of a blog (see below), some of this was in the form of a grammar book (self-published, above).
Then I wrote some poetry and took the plunge to submit some of my poetry to online journals, several of which have been accepted.
My next plunge was to share the links of my poetry with my friends, and to seek their comments - which were also public.
My next plunge, and main opus, was my book, Dogs Don't Look Both Ways, which has been honored with a B.R.A.G. Medallion. My new job is the hard work of an indie author trying to publicize and sell his/her book. I'm still writing poetry, which is what comes to me when all is still and quiet....
Taking so many plunges in life, I would say that, basically, I consider myself a plunger.
It's a brave new world for me personally and as a writer!
